ISPs ordered to take down another 21 piracy sites
The BPI will force ISPs to block 21 filesharing sites from tomorrow following its latest High Court victory.

The new blocks will come into force from tomorrow, after a High Court judge ruled the sites infringed copyright, and should be blocked in the UK.

The UK's biggest ISPs - TalkTalk, Virgin, BT, BSkyB, Telefonica and Everything Everywhere - will implement the blocks.
The list of sites includes nine torrent sites and 12 "aggregator" services, which link to other piracy outlets.

The ruling marks the BPI's biggest victory to date, bringing the total number of sites blocked by the trade body to 25. The BPI previously managed to block four sites in the UK: The Pirate Bay, Kickass Torrents, H33t and Fenopy.

According to the BPI, it was forced to seek the order after failing to persuade the sites to "co-operate in any meaningful way".

"We asked the sites to stop infringing copyright, but unfortunately they did not and we were left with little choice but to apply to the court, where the judge considered the evidence and declared that ISPs should not serve access to them," said BPI CEO Geoff Taylor.

There's no suggestion that any of the ISPs will fight the court order. "BT will only block access to websites engaged in online copyright infringement when ordered by a court to do so," said a BT spokesperson. "BT has been ordered to block access to these websites, and will do so within the timeframe set out in the court order."

Thinking about it, I wonder what would have happened to Youtube if it wasn't owned by Google?

It takes five seconds to bypass any such block, stuff kids will probably learn in school like I did.
