Samsung's 3D phone, the Galaxy 3D, is set to arrive just in time for Christmas
Is 3D coming to the Samsung Galaxy S2? |
Samsung's answer to the HTC Evo 3D and LG Optimus 3D is set to arrive in Q4, making it the perfect Christmas present.
The Samsung Galaxy 3D is said to be very similar to the Samsung Galaxy S2, with a 1.2GHz dual-core processor and 4.3-inch touchscreen.
According to Korea's ETNews, the Samsung Galaxy 3D will have a few additions over its older cousin, including dual 8-megapixel cameras for shooting your own 3D content.
The Samsung Galaxy 3D will also benefit from an OS upgrade - Android Gingerbread to be precise, bringing along many of our favourite Android Honeycomb features to the smartphone.
SammyHub has hinted that the device will launch on Android 2.3 though, so we may have to wait a while for that Gingerbread upgrade.
Hardware wise, the Galaxy 3D also features HDMI out to convert your images and video to the big screen.
As operators and manufacturers turn to 3D, we can definitely expect some pretty impressive 3D content to launch with the Samsung Galaxy 3D.
On the LG Optimus 3D, LG bundled its own 3D suite with the handset, including preloaded 3D games (we particularly liked the 3D version of Asphalt 5), YouTube, and the 3D camera UI.
Samsung's TouchWiz UI will no doubt be pre installed, and we're hoping it's revamped in 3D.
Samsung hasn't commented on whether the Samsung Galaxy 3D is in the works or not, but we sure hope it will arrive before Santa does.
