HTC's latest Android handset, the super-charged Sensation, looks to be missing its original launch date of May - if gadget seller Play.com is to be believed.
When the handset was originally announced, we were told to expect a release in May - but Play has started taking pre-orders on the gadget based on a release date of the 30th of June.
The HTC Sensation is causing a stir in the Android handset market, with its dual-core 1.2GHz processor making it one of the fastest handsets around, while its 4.3in Super-LCD screen offers a a resolution of 540x960 - nearly matching the iPhone 4's 'retina' display at 640x960, and only missing out thanks to a narrower 16:9 wide-screen aspect ratio.
The device is also due to bring HTC Watch along for the ride, a service that allows users to access a library of films and TV programmes for rental or purchase directly on the device, with users able to start watching films almost immediately thanks to a progressive download system.
Rounded out with an eight megapixel camera capable of shooting full HD 1080p video at 30 frames per second with stereo sound, there's no surprise that users are gnashing their teeth at the seeming delay - although with HTC keeping quiet for now, it's possible that Play is merely hedging its bets on the launch date front.
Play is asking for £499.99 for a SIM-free version of the HTC Sensation.
