Buying a Greeting Card vs. Making Your Own

In the countless special occasions that have come and gone in our lives, each of us has received an amount of greeting cards so large that if all of them were placed on a scale, their weight would be more than what we weigh today. As a result, we receive cards whose moods and topics range from silly to serious and baby showers to condolences cards handed out when someone dies. After awhile, receiving the same cards with the same boring, cookie cutter sentiments can get a little tiresome. That’s where greeting card software comes in.

Never before have we had to opportunity to create our own personalized greeting cards that produce the most profound emotional response so quickly and easily. Technology has come a long way from the days where the most you could do with greeting card software is put a clip art image on the front, and basic text in the middle. Now, not only can you do what was commonplace in the past, you have plenty of images and fonts to choose from along with other unparalleled customization abilities.

Some people aren’t too picky when it comes to the greeting cards they receive. The saying “It’s the thought that counts” becomes their mantra every time an event rolls around. They don’t want you to make too much of an effort on their behalf. They’re satisfied with whatever they get because they know it’s from your heart. When, in reality, not much thought or consideration is required to pick an item off the shelf at a store. The people who made it took the time and effort, but all you did was spend a few minutes looking for the item you think they might like.

That’s the problem with buying greeting cards at stores. You can’t get exactly what you know the person would want, so you have to settle for “close enough.” This might work for an acquaintance, but if it’s someone that’s important, such as a coworker, family member, spouse, or significant other, you need to take the time and effort to come up with something good.

When you hear “It’s the thought that counts,” put as much thought into what you’re giving them as physically possible. Wrack your brain for days and weeks on end trying to think of the perfect greeting card. That way, even if you didn’t spend a lot of money creating it, you could say to them “I put a lot of thought into this card, and, like you said, it’s the thought that counts.” You would need greeting card software in this situation to accomplish your goals.

With greeting card software, you can have control over every element of your greeting card. They will know you care when they see the touching photo you put on the cover, the heartwarming text you put inside, and the cute little logo you put on the back cover. In a sea of typical, store-bought greeting cards, yours will rise to the top of the pile. It will take them a long time to forget about how thoughtful you were to craft a greeting card that’s genuinely from you.
