Pros: This is a hardworking registry cleaner that will perform necessary maintenance.
Cons: The interface and features are not the nicest.
The Verdict: RegCure will fix your registry without a whole lot of extras.
RegCure is designed to be good doctor for your PC’s registry. The program offers an intuitive and attractive interface that will appeal to users of all skill levels.
Beginners will like the easy guidance at the top right of the scan window that tells you exactly which step you are working on and how many more there are to go. Advanced users will appreciate the opportunity to select the items they wish to scan and the ignore list, which will allow them to leave certain found errors undisturbed as well.
Standout Features:
• Startup manager
• Statistics log
• Customization features
• Ignore list
Ease of Use:
RegCure was very easy to install and use. The program leads users on a step-by-step process with lots of options for personal preferences along the way. Its license allows its installation on up to three PCs. Perhaps one disadvantage that affects the quality of user experience comes from its interface, which looks somber and not as delicate as some other brands.
Features:
RegCure’s installation package is as small as 2 MB that its program will only take up very little system resources. RegCure offers a solid and fast scan. Its cleaning performance is always appreciated. But RegCure doesn’t provide a detailed scan list, so users won’t be able to know what has been scanned. Its startup project manager can help your computer pick up a little speed by disabling unwanted projects or enabling needed projects.
The scheduling feature is also a nice touch. Those with less computer maintenance experience will appreciate not having to remember to clean the registry on a regular basis. Any maintenance program that can be self reliant is a good thing. Even if you eventually decide to ignore many of the errors identified it is nice to have the program remember to look in the first place.
Safety:
In terms of safety, RegCure offers automatic backup files each time errors are removed. This program is always thinking of the less experienced user, offering warnings along the way. At the bottom of the backup page there is a recommendation about using caution when restoring registry items. The help file also offers warnings about removing backup files. Of course the advanced user can skip over this information with confidence.
The FAQs also offer easy to understand information about putting together a system restore point, for those wanting even a little bit more security. Partial backups are almost always the best idea but if you have been making changes to the registry and are dealing with previously-unknown problems it may help. If you have tried any and all other troubleshooting methods it’s nice to know the restore point, essentially a snapshot of your computer at a given time, is there.
Help/Support:
Help features for RegCure include FAQs and an easy-to-navigate help menu. For online support there is ParetoLogic e-mail help, which promises a response within 8 hours.
For any moment of panic in your registry cleaning experience there is a free live chat option and telephone customer support (not included with the free trial).
Summary:
RegCure is not the flashiest of the registry cleaner software we looked at but it offers a solid outcome. For a trial version, customers can only use limited functions before deciding whether to purchase it or not. Another drawback may be its payment method, which requires customers to input basic information first. But RegCure is still a good choice for advanced users and technician users.
